This is maybe somewhat off-topic but, I've been making a lot of comic-style vector art for a video game recently, but I really need some other artists to criticize the anatomy and lighting/shadow. I know I'm not very good at these areas and I want the art for the game to be as attractive as possible.

I thought about posting at conceptart.org but it seems like you have to be pretty pro even to post there, it was intimidating. I don't want someone to tell me to go study anatomy (I've had traumatic experiences with really mean art criticism), I just want specific suggested changes for one set of images.

We have a Comics and Manga SYW (http://absolutewrite.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=156) forum in Share Your Work (password = vista) but sometimes it's not exactly heaving with activity.

Have you considered posting on deviantART (http://www.deviantart.com/)? Big, active artist community.

Also consider updating your sigline to include links to your art and an invitation to check it out.

You can also try WetCanvas (http://www.wetcanvas.com), which is a huge, active art forum. They don't have an exclusive comic art subforum, but they have illustration, digital art, and drawing/sketching subforums with members that can give you advice on practically anything, and everyone is very nice and helpful.

I have a DeviantArt page, but there is no critique-request forum as far as I could tell.

Penciljack.com is also pretty good for posting artwork in a forum.

Hello. Just wanted to let you know this thread was very useful to me, so thanks! I also suggest ConceptArt.org and CGSociety.org. They have instant posting in Works In Progress forums. Yeah, and DeviantArt.com is fantastic for connecting with other artists.

If you have a moment, I'll hope you'll enjoy my own comics, at www.MartinKoala.com (http://www.MartinKoala.com)

Cheers!
