Yes, I know I shouldn't get a program to help write. But I have been leanring the basics. I just want it know which is better, White Smoke, or Autocrite?

Neither. I recommend a combination of YellowLegalPad, CheapPen, and BadCoffee.

I haven't used either, but I've seen several older threads (http://www.google.com/custom?domains=www.absolutewrite.com&q=white+smoke&sa=Search&sitesearch=www.absolutewrite.com&hl=en) discussing White Smoke. Try doing lots of crits. This will help you more then running a program that tells you used the word "was" 100 times. Won't cost you anything either, other than time.

yes. I know brains is best and learning thanks to AW, but just thinking if I need one. And yes they have a writing progrom called White smoke

I think both those programs kill more new talent than they help develop.
