#1 Spell the writer's name a bit differently, and it would mean "writer."

So confused am I by the clue, I am afraid to give this answer for fear the letters also spell out some deeply significant play by Arthur Miller, but here goes:

Good Golly, Miss Molly

Performed by Little Richard (not the penniless one with the almanac) and written by two men whose names do not appear to be close to being like a word for writer. One was nicknamed Bumps; is that significant in any way? Color me confused.

Well done, Rev, and quickly, too!

AND YOU'RE RIGHT!
I should have said "performer's name" not "writer's name." The song, of course, is identified with Richard Wayne Penniman, AKA Little Richard. When I wrote the clue, I was looking at credits for both "Good Golly Miss Molly" and "Lucille" and got mixed up. He did indeed cowrite "Lucille." But "Molly" was written by John Marascalco and Robert Blackwell. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima...

Which way to the Time-Out Chair? :e2zipped:

Oh heck, Nym. No need for a time-out. The Penniman idea was very clever, and we all know the errors that result from rushing to post an answer first or to post a new scramble!

Speaking of which: DOPESROB YAMHANHI

Tut might have been Nefertiti's kid
but he gave his props to those that did
advise him -not chide him-
like Maya with the treasure
and Aya with the measure
but it was Horemheb
that kept him safe
so he could wed his true love Ank

If you read the right papyrus,
You'll see he loved Osiris.

Stunning new avi and bucolic new signature? Is this our Albedo or an impersonator? :tongue

The pic down below is of my former horse Junior arguing with a goose about who owned the grass. The goose's nest was about 20 feet away.
