I'm ready for my closeup. Or I would be, if I were a crazy old former silent-movie star living with a screenwriter turned gigolo and a bald-headed former husband turned butler on SUNSET BOULEVARD.

Gotta come up with another one, and I don't have one. Gimme a minute, okay?

+++++++++++++

Okay, I got one.

STEAK TARTARE Yuck! Why not just bite off one of the dog's legs and have it for dinner?

And to think I was going to bed an hour ago, but NOOOOOO, I had to get a second wind and now I'm back on this addictive site. OK, this is it; I really am going to bed now:

Whilst the others snore I have the whole playroom to myself.
:evil

I seem to recall that Rev said that if it (her scramble) was still wrong we were free to add letters. And didn't she also say (I cannot confirm this as I've put my glasses down and can't remember where so I'm just going by memory) that we could also remove letters as well.

Well her scramble WAS wrong so I fixed it.

And, now that I've had time to think, I'm absolutely sure of it. Rev did say "Okay"

In light of all this, I shall now solve the scramble.

BRAIN CELLS. Simple and it fits the clue Rev offered. It's perfect.

:flag:

Um... Rev? I'm sorry. I didn't really mean any of this. It was only in jest. May I have another clue please.

The scramble was actually dieffenbachia, but Drice has come up with the best answer yet - albeit after "misunderstanding" my offer to allow different letters and blaming it on misplacing his glasses. At the time I posted the scramble, my brain cells were, indeed, all dead.

I suggest we all take a moment to ponder the depths of his intelligence and wit, as they are both like, totally deep.

New word, my liege?

Good grief! I thought I had a good vocabulary, but I've never heard of dieffenbachia! It's enough to make me want to retire from this game--perhaps from this forum. I shall never write again. :e2cry:

DIEFFENBACHIA a plant of a genus that includes dumb cane and its relatives. Also Philodendron, Pothos, Calla, Anthurium, Spathiphyllum, and Skunk Cabbage.

Hmm... Dumb Cane, Mother-in-Law's-Tongue and Skunk Cabbage in one sentence.

Oh well, so much for the ruminative break... here we go again...

UNSKEKTZ
(Bless you, Vladimir)

PS Nym... You'll be all right. Just take two dictionaries and for the pain? Avoid close contact with Rev for oh... say, like forever. That's my plan.

You're forgiven. But you can't leave the game, ever; you started it all, 'member?

Trivia about Vladimir Putin: If you pronounce his last name as the French language would dictate, it sounds just like the word for "whore." putain

I don't know the scrambler answer, so I thought I would distract you with a little...

More distraction: I went in the Vladimir Nabokov direction, but that didn't work either. And if you pronounce "Nabokov" in the Romanian manner...oh, never mind.

Drice, how 'bout another clue?

(It kinda went like this...
"Vladimir, where are you from?" someone would ask.
Vladimir would answer and then that someone would say, "Bless you, Vladimir.")

I'll go out on a limb and say that the letters, when assembled correctly, add up to a place name that sounds like a sneeze. For example,

KESZNKTU

So when Vladimir says "Kesznktu," the other person says, "Bless you!"

But I made that spelling up, and I have no idea what the correct spelling is.

Yes Nymtoc. You are surprisingly on the right track. :rolleyes

Last hint (There is only one way to spell this well known town located in the Kuznetsk basin.)

And my apologies to all but... I was only following Rev's lead.

"Kuznetsk!"

"Bless you, Drice."

And now that I have recovered from my humiliation over dieffenbachia, I have decided I will continue playing this game.

I'll be back with a scrambletsk in a few minutes.

Et voilà!

CRIME is what Albedo committed by posting a cruel and deceptive scramble and going offline, AND PUNISHMENT is what she will receive upon her return!

But to continue on our merry way:

Johannes Gutenberg would think, "why didn't I think of Digital Publishing."

Well actually, he did. He published the first book on finger and toe prints titled 'I Am Only Who My Ridges Are.'

Ok, he didn't really.
