Just sign up...*sigh* Feel free to make your own impassioned plea...
I can't believe he'd leave us, after all we've been through together.

I'll only sign the petition if VB agrees to only post inflammatory remarks and to stop dancing...

hmmm...
I sorta thought more people would be rushing in here to sign their names.
Of course, I was dead wrong about the John Kerry thing, too...

Hmmm, I don’t know. Before I commit myself, I have to know how he/she stands on the issues. I mean how can I stand behind him if I don’t know his platform.
So I have a few questions for VoteBot:
Outlining or freewriting?
Agent or publisher first?
Genre or mainstream?
Character or plot?
What are your views on interspecies relations? Are robots capable of loving humans on a satisfying and deeply emotional level?
Do you believe in abortion – as in mission abortion if the stated mission goal becomes obsolete?
Do you believe in same sex marriage? Should two plug-outfitted robots be allowed the same rights as the standard plug/outlet couple?
What about religion? Do you believe in Asimov’ s three laws of robotics? Are you a fanatic about them or believe they are a relic of your primeval robot past?
What about terrorism? Does it bother you that some people are using your brethren to commit terrible acts against others? Intelligence sources report that many mechanical devices have been used in the making of bombs and it is only a matter of time before a robot carries out these evil deeds.
If a part of a robot – timer, fuse etc – is used in one of these attacks, does that make robots as a whole culpable?
Do you support the robots participating in the war in Iraq? Drones, bomb retrieval robots etc. Or do you think they would do better to be here at home, making movies and making automobiles etc?
Do you think the next Supreme Court Justice should be a robot so as to satisfy the robot agenda?
Thank you for taking the time to answer these very important questions VoteBot.

Bill, Bill, Bill - the only thing we need to know about Vote Bot has to do with libido. Who cares about all that other stuff?

Vote_bot will keep going and going and going... until his batteries die. Then he just spews oil and explodes.

I don't think Vote Bot has a libido. They didn't program it into him.

Life doesn't have to be so fleeting, VB. We can chip in to get you some rechargeable batteries.
Philosophical question: If Vote Bot's batteries die in a forest and no one is there to notice, is he/she really out of power?
I think not. VB will have power over us long after he/she is gone. Contemplating the nature of a universe that could give rise to one such as Vote Bot is mind boggling indeed.

You all know that Bot just said he was going to kill himself, so we can save him if we want. With the threat of suicide we can now get him into a psych unit for evaluation and put on some meds to stop this suicidal thinking. From reading what Bot has said I also believe he has a Messiah/Martyr complex. He has set forth on a goal and now that that goal is near complete he thinks he should die. He also stated taking poison for death instead of a gun, fire, car crash, etc. What does this imply? Narcissistic.
My observation: VB has Narcissitic Martyr Complex with Suicidal tendancies. He needs professional help and medication quick or he may do something irrational.
One thing does bother me though. Robots can't die by poison, so is VB pulling us along or is he deluded. I need to talk with him to find out more.
VB, all these people love you and want you to live. How does that make you feel?

Robots can't die by poison, so is VB pulling us along or is he deluded.Perhaps his poison is water (rust)? Which is a very slow way for a robot to die. So would you add masochist to the list?
Haskins, as for psychoanalyzing robots, have you never seen Star Trek V? One of my favourite movie scenes: Spock is answering lightning-fast mathematical questions from three different computers. Suddenly he stops. Shot of the computer reveals the question that stumped him: "How do you feel?" (okay, not to imply Vulcans are robots... just love the scene)

I think we'd better be careful using Star Trek as any kind of guide for robot psychology. Remember all those episodes where our Federation MC talks the AI into self-destruction by cornering it into an oxymoronic existential loop. I. for one, do not want to see Vote_Bot caught in something like:
"Who's my creator? I am my creator. But in order to create I must exist. I cannot create unless I exist. If I am not created, I do not exist. Therefore I cannot create Vote_Bot ..." Those robotic explosions can get messy.
