My guess:
1. Firehorse, relishing the process of developing the narrative, has written a half-dozen completely different stories and is mulling them over. She bathes them in the dusky aroma of midnight oil.

2. Haskins, never one to shoot first. has known for days what he's going to write. He hasn't done it yet, tempering his ideas in the heat of the impending deadline.

3. Vote Bot is planning a final-week extravaganza that will surprise and entertain all (cue Beatles' "For the Benefit of Mr. Kite"). Janet Jackson will go apoplectic with envy, for never has a side attraction provided such startling counterpoint to the main event.

It's a playoff atmosphere, folks!
