Hi, I've just joined the "blogging party" with my first blog:

Any reviews gratefully received, thank you!

Hi David,

I like the general look of the blog. It's cleanly formatted, and easy to read EXCEPT red letters on grey background don't work. You have used lighter colours for all others, so perhaps you can replace red with another light colour.

The tone of the blog is friendly, conversational, which works.

Hi lostwanderer5

Thank you for your quick reply and review, it's appreciated.

You are perfectly right concerning the red type; I'm off to amend the blog accordingly right now.

I really like your blog; I've joined as a follower.

Best regards

David J Griffin

Okay--red on gray. Ow. Please change that. Please. Otherwise, a nice blog. Personable and interesting. I even joined as a Follower.

Hi David, I've dutifully changed the red on grey!

Thank you for joining as a follower. I hope to continue to keep you interested!

I'm about to check out your blog now.

Definitely better without the red, and I have joined as a follower too.

Looks great - I am curious about the colour (Canadian spelling eh) changes in your posts. Each paragraph a different colour? But great topics of interest.

Hi Terry, my idea here is to emphasise certain lines/paras with colour to catch the eye; as well as making longer posts easier to "digest". Hope it works....

I didn't realise that the Canadian way of spelling "colour" is the same as here in the UK; I've learned something today!

Hi there. I often reply to threads here and I have visited your blog three times now. While there is nothing wrong with it I seem to have trouble finding something to say about it. My best guess is that it needs more of a hook or an angle to make it have more impact and be more memorable?

Hi veinglory, thank you for your observation. You are correct (although for a few posts I've asked a direct question to stimulate a reply - at least, I think I have! ;) )

I'll bear that in mind for future posts, i.e weave in a hook or angle so that people feel that they want to comment.

Glad you've visited my blog three times; hopefully that means you are finding it interesting to read, at least! Here's hoping you continue to visit in the future and you find something you want to comment on.

Kind regards

David jg

P.S you and everyone are welcome to follow as a friend on the blog; it sure gives a blog writer added confidence to know that people are reading it, as you know!

Hi, I've amended my blog extensively now, adding a background image, for instance.

Please take a look; any comments welcome, thank you.

I like the background image, but did you change the font? It seems harder to read now. You may want a different font or to "bold" the one you have.

Hi veinglory, thanks for your reply. I changed the font on one post as an experiment but changed it back again, so hopefully no worries there!
