Jaguar XK140 -seat question

One of my MCs drives a Jag XK140. I need to know if someone sitting in the passenger seat can reach down and wrap her fingers around part of the seat frame. Anyone got a clue?

It doesn't look like there's much of a frame but I guess it looks possible. That's the best pic I could find

EDIT : I assume the passenger seat will be set up similarly to the driver's seat
