Okay, I'm writing along on my WIP. It's urban fantasy paranormal romance.. sort of, and I'm running into a problem. I don't want my main MCs to get into bed yet, but I'm finding that my food scenes are getting erotic now.
I've just finished a scene where he forces her to taste his blood. At first she's going "yuck" but then it turns to a chocolate wine taste and she has an orgasm.
My question is: should I pull back on the heat with whatever's going on, or let it stay as it is and risk diluting the tension when they do make it to bed later on?
Thanks for any insight you all may have!
Hmm. If it's going to be a while before they actually get in bed together, I might pull it back to where she almost has an orgasm...just verges on losing control. Then, depending on the relationship between them, you could have her second guess herself, feel guilty, feel elated and want more...whatever.
(But realize, that's just me - I find the whole protagonist-can-barely-control-his/her-lust-but-manages-to thing very sexy...part of the whole seduction scenario, and that's my fave. lol)
If they're going to have sex shortly anyway, then I don't see it as a problem.

Thanks SFLP. It'll be a while yet (I think). I fear once they do have sex, a lot of the tension will go out of the story. Or at least I can see more possibilities for sub plot along the way if they don't have sex for a while.

Anything can work, but I would suggest not overdoing it. I think orgasmic responses not non-intercourse situations not only risk potentially being silly, but also when you finally go all the way you don't have any further to go. But as I said, execution is everything and anything can work.

Well, I tried different ways, took stuff out, added stuff in and decided it was time for the BIG SCENE right here, right now in the convertible, in the snow, on the side of the road and won't they love it when the cop comes by.... It's a good thing the car has diplomat plates ...
