View Full Version : Toshiba startup problem...
Okay guys, I hope I can find the answer I'm looking for. I have a toshiba satellite laptop and it's running slow. I found out that the problem was too many programs starting up when I turn on my computer. The problem is, I can't fine the startup programs folder so I can stop certain programs from starting up when I turn on my computer.
Does anyone know where to find this or how I can stop these programs from starting?

What is your operating system?
If it's Windows you can run msconfig to configure startup, or get one of the startup programs that allow you to delay and configure startup programs.

Go to Start > Run and then type in: msconfig
Then tab to Startup.
Be careful; if you're not sure about something in the configuration options leave it alone until you get advice.

The internet is a wonderful thing. Most of the stuff I found on there was optional or not recommended and one was put on by a trojan virus... Yay! Thanks a bunch.

Do you still have the trojan?
If so, first run any malware removal scans that you can. Then if you think the trojan is still there, get thee to the Malware Removal forum.
And check your startup again in a day or two. Some programs reload themselves.
