This is just one of those ideas off the top of my pointy little head after watching someone spam the site repeatedly this morning.
I notice the site sometimes gets a lot of spam during the hours when most of the moderators are getting their much-needed beauty sleep. I think the large majority of moderators are from the US, with one or two exceptions.
Maybe consider making one of the Australian member a supermod?
Again, just a thought.

When I ready your intro, cat, I thought you were going to suggest a 24-hour delay after registration before you can post.
I'm sure I've heard of boards that do that.

Poet is an Australian supermod. I believe. Unless I am wrong. Then someone please correct me.
I'm into. Short choppy. Sentences today.

Most of our current crop of SPAM is coming from the Ukraine, China and Tehran. Poet (Australia) and Derek (Scotland) usually catch them first. Some of the IP's are being broad banned, especially the one from last night.

By the way, just to be clear, I didn't mean that the current mods didn't do a great job of removing spam. Generally when there's a spam post it will be removed within a very short time. Every so often though there's a spam attack during the wee hours of the morning (US time) and there's no one online at that time who can do anything about it (unless Mac hasn't gone to bed yet). When it happens it seems to take a while for the forum to calm down and get back to normal (whatever that is here).
Anyway, it was just a suggestion to the powers in charge.
There's a difference between a mod and a supermod?

Mods are usually in charge a 'few' forums; super mods are like admins, just they cannot access the Admin CP (which edits the look and feel of the board).
