Hey, isn't the deadline for Week 7 fast approaching? Where's my weekend reading material? :D

 ...Have some popcorn...it makes the time go by faster.

C'mon, people! Need something to read. I'll have some of that popcorn, Wendy. Thanks!

Um, not that I'm trying to rush you or anything. Just feeling really glad that I'm not having to come up with something for that one! Wow, tough assignment. ;)

Have a slice of William's prune cake while you're waiting. :Cake: It's delicious. (Just don't ask about ingredients....he might tell you.)

Now that I'm on the other side of this spectrum, I can appreciate the anticipation of the audience awaiting weekend reading material.

  My popcorn is stale, and quite frankly, I'd rather have a waiting snack with a bit more punch to it. Do we have an icecream shop here?

Good luck, finalists!

Oh, yes, I forgot to mention...the posting time is 11:00 pm Saturday...NOT 11:59 as in the past. :)

Looking forward to all the birthday parties.

I'm a little confused. Is this where the finalists put in their entries, or where people do the 'join in' thing?

There are a lot of threads in the *Idol* forum. Week 7 Post entries here can only be posted by finalists. It's locked to the rest of us (from what I understand) Just for Fun - Join in on the Theme is where the rest of us can use the theme to share our own stories. The other threads are to poke fun at, encourage, cajole....the finalists. Mostly encourage - it's a tough job (but they're good, so maybe it's not so tough....)

Oh yes, it's tough. I'm working on it, I'm working on it. My poor children are running around dirty, crying from hunger, searching for Mommy... an ogre from the computer growls 'Mommy's working right now!':scared:

I don't know about anyone else, but I find the return of VoteBot oddly comforting.

Kinda like the arrival of the man-eating mosquitos that signal summer is here.

Or the pained expression on my face whenever Monday morning rolls around.

Or the sound of my sighs whenever my mom asks me when I'm gonna settle down and move back home.

It's become a familiar part of the routine. A comfortable pattern of the cycle of life. It lets me know the world hasn't gone off the edge of the cliff yet. Some things are forever.

Thank you, VoteBot. You've restored my faith in humanity...

I assume no liability for any negative consequences incurred due to your newly-restored faith in humanity.

Ditto. This forum seems so quiet without him scuttling here and there.

I don't know what that says about us. Maybe I don't want to know.

As for the wait, we're down to three contestants and the top level of the contest, so the pressure's really on them to revise until their last submission moment. Also, when there were more contestants, they tended to stagger their submissions more, with some posting early, some in the middle, and some late. With just three contestants, they don't have to worry about the voters having enough time to read them all thoroughly and repeatedly, if necessary, so posting late doesn't press the peanut gallery into speed-reading.

Exactly, bunny.

Take all the time you need, contestants. We're just consumed by our anticipation. We should all try to find something to occupy ourselves while we wait....

I have several recipes for zucchini. When you grow gardens like we do, you absolutely have to have at least a dozen different recipes to use it up before it goes bad. :)

I'll type them up and send them to you by e-mail.

I just want to clear this up - Saritams and I seem to be sharing a wavelength this week. I didn't read her JFF story until after mine was posted, but it's proof positive that writers come up with similar ideas all the time. What's even weirder is that the idea I almost used, involving the same character and location, had even more elements similar to hers. (Anyone have a good "spooky" smiley?)

Yeah, Sarah and I had a twilight zone moment earlier in the week, it just gets more and more spooky.... dodododo, dodododooooo
