Hi! I need help with my scripts that were originally written using Scriptware on an old computer... I have all of the files saved on a zip disk, but can no longer access them. I bought movie magic, but can't open the original files... does anyone know how I can convert them??? or a service that does this???
Thanks!

Shame you didn't export plain ASCII files before you lost Scriptware, but too late now!

I notice that one of Movie Magic's file open options is "Scriptware (r) Tag" -- this didn't work after you unzipped the files?

A Google search for "convert scriptware" produced a bunch of links...

I might not fully understand your predicament but I think you're saying that it's not that you can't access the zip drive, but that you just can't open the files on them with Movie Magic?

If this is the case...

If you're on a PC I believe you should be able to transfer the files to "My Documents". Perhaps if you saved it as an "all file", then you'd be able to import them to Movie Magic (if that program has an "import" option). If it allows you to do that, I'm pretty sure you're going to have to reformat the entire thing again because it'll likely show up as a jumble.

I'm no expert, but that's about the only thing I can think of.:)

Try AumHa.net

They are to computer types as this forum is to writers. When I have any kind of problem with this #$%^& machine, I ask them and they won't quit until they help you solve the problem.

Tell 'em Winterchase sent you. That won't get you anything, but some ragging. Seriously, they're good people.

Hi JRitch, you could try right clicking on your document, then 'open as' (or it might be 'open with') and go for Rich Text Format- it will lose your formatting, but you'll still have the work.
