Parents, teachers, and anyone else who has experience with performing arts:
I'm pulling together an article on the value of performing arts, and I'd like first-hand experiences with the arts. It's still a broad topic, so any thoughts or experiences are totally welcome!
Thank you!

Oh wow...I could write so much about that right now but I need to go to bed.
I'm not quite sure exactly what you want, but here's a few sites that might help.
http://www.musictherapy.org/
http://www.cerebromente.org.br/n15/mente/musica.html
http://www.amc-music.org/musicmaking/thebrain.htm
google "music therapy" and "music and the brain" for more.
Or were you looking for the emotional value that a performer gets? If so I'm sure others can help you with that, but I have to go to bed!

I'd be happy to help you if you have any particular questions in mind. I have siblings in the performing arts and I myself am involved from time to time.
