I see no problem w it.
You can tell the story in a first POV - "I did it" and later or at some other pt you present the name, which will not be yours, of course.
Or, you can do it thru a third POV - "S/He did it" and again, ditto.
Or "divulge" the name right from the beginning, though, I for one, don't like to tell it all right away from the onset. I prefer to drag it a while, until the circumstances tell me that it's time to tell personal details.
The details can be similar to yours (unless there are people who know you and may read the bk and you don't want them to "see" you in the story), or some diff ones which make sense to you and the story, like you're a clerk, then the story teller will be a clerk, too, or of some other similar occupation, or an entirely diff one and so on w everything about the story teller.
