I'm looking for one or two writers who:

1) Are fans of the old Mystery Science Theater 3000 TV show and/or Rifftrax.com If you don't already know what either of those things are, this is probably not the gig for you.

2) Are funny.

3) Have the time coming up to turn some jokes in by June 5th at the latest.

4) Own or can borrow one or more of the following movies: Taps, When A Stranger Calls, The Island, Looker, Planet of the Apes (2001 version), Joy Ride, Titanic. Any of those will do, you don't have to own them all. (In other words, I don't want you to have to spend your own money to buy a movie for this job)

5) Have a Paypal account so I don't have to worry about sending checks in the mail. I'll adjust your pay to take into account the percentage paypal takes from every transaction. Payment for this first job will be made on June 5th.

Compensation: I'm still trying to figure out what's a fair compensation, especially since this is a rush job. What about we start off at 50 cents a joke we accept but if it turns out you're putting a lot of time in this and not making squat I'm willing to up that retroactively. My goal here is to find one or two really funny people and then form a long term business relationship with them where we keep them happy and they work on every movie we do but where it still makes financial sense for us as well. So there'll be a learning curve with this first job to figure out what's fair for both sides, but as long as we communicate openly, it should work out.

Applying: Send a sample of your comedy writing (within the body of the email) to shadowdog.productions@gmail.com As I said, this is a rush job so I'm going to be trying out the first couple people who send me funny samples so get in early.

PS. I love this message board and want to stay in good standing here (and I sure as hell don't want to get banned) so I'll treat you right, I promise!
