As to the gluten blog, I like the white, but find the font colors too soft. That's not a complaint, I just prefer a bit more color on blogs. The light orange is nice, though.

The template you used was one of my favs. I believe it allows you to use a custom header. You could use one that's food related for a more elegant touch. Or you could play around with inserting a picture gadget. Some pictures could enhance your blog' by giving it a more magazine or newsletter style that might help you "play up" the health-related format.

I like your use of post summaries which afford readers the opportunity to get a fuller glance at what topics are available on your blog.

Your post format would look more polished if you keep the "read more" links consistent from post to post.

Since your site is about gluten-free products and foods, you could provide articles about what gluten is and why it is important (or not). Likewise, an article about Celiac's Disease would be useful for those not familiar with the disease and its dangers.

Overall, I'd say you've done a great job on your blog!
