From newsok.com, March 7, 2009 (http://newsok.com/oklahoma-deaths-saturday-march-7-2009/article/3351198):
Saylors, Scott, 61, died Thursday. Graveside services 10 a.m. Sunday, Moore City Cemetery, Moore (Chapel Hill (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Chapel+Hill&CATEGORY=CITY), Oklahoma City).

C. Scott Saylors was Popeyesays (http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/member.php?u=7218), here on AW since 2006. He spent most of his time in Bewares & Background check, the AWRoundtable, and the PA subforum. I know he'd made a number of friends here, who've been wondering what happened, since he'd dropped out of sight the last few months.

Here's a review of his book, Sword of the Dajjal (http://www.booksforabuck.com/sfpages/sf_07/sword_dajjal.html), because our words and stories are what we all want to leave behind us most, aren't they?

Thank you, Triceretops, for letting us know about Mr. Saylor's passing.

Gee, that brought tears to my eyes. I didn't know him too well, but he seemed so nice. May he R.I.P.

Thank you for posting this Mac. Scott was one of my closest and dearest friends here at AW. We collaborated, emailed, and beta buddied, for a long time through thick and thin. I just found out about this today, although he passed away in early March of this year. He'd been absent from the group for quite a while, and I always assumed he had computer/internet problems, since he often mentioned hardware problems to me. But I would visit his site every day in hopes that he would return. Scott looked up to me for reasons I'll never fully understand. I was indeed, his friend and ear.

He was a very, very gifted SF writer, who wrote the really hard-tech stuff, and got away with it in spades. His book Sword of Dajjal, a terrific military SF tale, is on Kindle and is doing very well.

God, I'll miss him terribly. Love you, Scott. I never stopped believing, buddy.

Your friend always, Chris

How terribly sad. We are family here, some relatives we see more than others. Prayers sent and a candle lit.

Sorry, Chris.

I knew him in passing; never really got to know him, yet it makes me so sad when a fellow AWer dies.

your contrail shows us
the way

it etches the sky

hailing our next
