Okay...
<sigh>
history first!
Half Life was the game that revolutionized the first person shooter with a fantastic plot, awesome visuals, amazing twists, and a really shitty end level.
Okay, that last bit wasn't all that great, but it wasn't enough to drag the game down.
Then, 10 years later, Half Life 2 comes out.
And dear god, its AMAZING. Better in every way, with an original setting, thrilling plotline, and chilling enemies, Half Life 2 is considered by many to be the BEST GAME OF ALL TIME!
The plot?
Well, you play as Gordon Freeman, a scientist armed with little more than his wits, a crowbar and whatever he can scavenge from his enemies, pitted against the mechanization of the evil Combine, who invaded the world and conquered it in a matter of hours.
Gordon, who started off the first game by accidentally letting the Combine into this world, has been transported to City 17, a mysterious city where the Combine heard various people. There he meets and underground resistance force and manages to spark a full rebellion against the Combine forces left on the planet after the conquest. During this rebellion, the Combine's center of power (the Citadel) was damaged and is about to explode.
Now...the movie in the link below is fan made. They did it with no budget, the Half Life 2 graphics engine, and lots and lots of hard work.
