Manuscripts and Formats (starting new chapters)

I understand the first chapter being a third down from the page but why does format continue with chapters that follow. Seems to me a lot of wasted space.

I'm going to shuffle this off to BWQ. Lets keep basic things like formatting there.

And the point of starting so far down the page is to make it easy for editors and agents to spot chapter changes.

So all of the chapters are started lower down on the page, not just the first one? I didn't know that. Glad you posted this.
