It may be old hat to everyone but me.
I use Word 2000, BTW, but it's probably the same in every Word version.
In Find and Replace, I wanted to change Book to book in a lengthy document. Standard Find and Replace doesn't change the capital to lower case, so . . .
In Find and Replace, go to Options and put a tick in the box marked Match Case. Word will then replace the capital with lower case, or vice versa.

Yep.
Also, if you go to More and go to Format... you can even search by Font (such as italics, color, etc.)
Lots of ways to search and find and such. =)

Thanks, Clair. I could certainly use the italics search.

Your Tips and Tricks index is very helpful, Roger. Thanks.
I'm glad I could contribute seeing as I'm a total dunce at anything remotely technical and usually stumble across things.

Quick way to make the cent symbol:
Hold down either of the ALT keys, and using your computer keyboard's numeric pad on the right-hand side, type "0162" (without the quotes) and then let go of the ALT key. Now you'll see the symbol for cent -- ¢ -- at your flashing cursor.

I'd never remember that. I just go to Insert, Symbols.

If you go to Insert--> Symbol and select a symbol, some, like the cent sign have keyboard shortcuts. (Look towards the bottom of the insert symbol box.) If there's a particular symbol you use a lot, you can either memorize the keyboard short cut... or make your own.
Currently, my copy of word shows that Ctrl+/C (or Ctrl+/,c) (actually pressing the + key) makes the cent symbol... if I used that a lot, I'd make it something similar. Perhaps overriding a command I don't use.
But, since I rarely have any common special symbols, I just do Insert-->Symbol and find what I want.
