I'm looking to expand my resume' with a few new authors. I offer a free professional proof reading for a chapter in your newest book. I can edit using Microsoft WORD with edit tracking, or I can edit a hard copy. I know it doesn't need to be said, but I can assure you that I will not plagiarize your work or share it with anyone. What I get out of this arrangement is your book, manual, or story title and your name in my resume' list. Looking forward to getting some great new works.

1. Are you sure you want to expand your resume' with a few new authors. Are you really sure?
2. Are you offering proofing or editing? They are not the same.
alloyd, in my experience as a freelance proofreader and copy editor, credits of the kind you're trying to gain aren't necessary. You simply take each publisher's proofreading or editing test. If you do well enough, you get an assignment. I don't think I even needed to show a résumé. (I did, but it may have made no difference.) That was a while ago, though. Maybe they want more documentation now.

Thank for this post. I have submitted resume in the past to new publishers. But, you're probably right. Thanks again or the good advice.
