Question about markets for children's illustrators

Hi all--This question is for a friend and I've checked the previous postings and did not find an answer, what is the best resource for a children's book illustrator (I am a nonfiction children's book author).

Generally, your editor. If you have a text that is approved and bought by an editor, most often they will want to pair you with an illustrator of their choosing. There's a thread about this stickied here (http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34843).
