Alright, continuing the book study, I've limited myself to 3 choices this time.

Ysabel by Guy Gavriel Kay
Storm Front by Jim Butcher
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

I hope everyone finds time this month and next to participate. I see that Deepness is getting few comments but I'm hoping people are just waiting till they've finished reading it. (I am, and I'm reading slowly).

Once again, these discussions are what we make of them as a group, so suggestions/comments are welcome.

And lastly, feel free to sway the vote in this thread! Support your favorite! :D

Cheers,
Christina

Oh, and the poll closes in 3 days!

Hey, seven votes already. Looks good. :)

Yeah, I think we can expect Deepness to roll into November. I just hit an interesting spot yesterday before I had to stop, and I've got to sit down and read it, but I'm so slow at reading hard SF.

Now, GO YSABEL, GO!!! ;) (so much for subtleties)

Cheers,
Christina

Andddddddd The Graveyard Book slips ahead. It's Gaiman with 4 votes. Gaiman is looking strong through the first turn!

Hehe, I need to get some fresh air or something ;)

Personally, I like all these books. I've read Storm Front and I've been meaning to read Ysabel. (Obviously I voted for Gaiman.)

I think the ones that lose out should be rec'd for December.

if you want to call a race...

hehe, pass.

D- currently December is reserved for SF. However, this is our (everyone's) book study, so we can do whatever we like ;) Regardless, thanks for the suggestion!
For December/January I'm pushing Tigana. My friend and I did a LBL on that one's opening- just for fun. :D

And Storm Front has pulled to the front! It's Storm Front and Graveyard, neck and neck! Ysabel is only behind by a neck as they go through the second turn!

It's Storm Front by a neck in the final turn! Will Storm Front hold strong during the final stretch or will Ysabel lick them all?

:D

And it's Storm Front by a nose at the finish! I'll be opening the thread on the 1st; please join the discussion when you've finished the book. (or before, but beware them spoilers!)

Meanwhile, I hope to see more of you in the 'Deep' thread. I need something to read when I'm done with the book ;)

Thank you to everyone who voted- it was nice to see such a high turn out this time.

Yay Storm Front! :D

I've already finished reading it - a month or so ago - but I'll reread it again for this. Crappy memory dictates that I do so.

And I've started reading the Vinge book and am slogging through it. ;)
