That's it--pick one or more and riff--repeat riffs--don't be afraid to take one just because someone else has done it--it isn't a contest, it's just a game.

Lust

I want

I take

it is for me

to take

through you

I'd scream a litany
to fling against the winds,
or maybe paint a masterpiece
to hang above my mantel high.
I'd bright the dreary sky
with a million vulpecula,
or maybe copulate the night.
I'd write a brand new aria
and wolf it a cappella
against the backdrop of the broken moon.
I'd even architect a pristine Taj Mahal,
complete with gems and jazz and gold inlays,
if only I could raise myself from apathy
and stand myself erect.

too good for you
for your ears my words
will never fall

as if i would let them go
that easily
falling is for losers

i hold them tight-lipped
of course, adorned with the
best stick in the mall

they stick to me
and to you in your want
nothing for you to want

i won't go to you
won't speak your need i'm
far, far away too far

for words

silent

It was stupid, but I was stupid.
It was dumb, but I was dumb.
I freely I admit it - I fell to pride
and I've paid the price ever since.

Envy

when i reflect
upon my accomplishments
i realize
they fall short
of yours.

i bought
a nice ranch,
you bought
a mini mansion.

i got
a raise,
you started
your own company

i went to
the beach
you went to
an island

and i realized
something...

i hate you

hey ddgryphon great prep for this poem posting.I had a gass while eating my dinner!

Gluttony

After an obsessive
Currently regressive
Anticipation of French bread
My waistline spread
Constantly eating delicacies deep fried
Excessively costly- I almost died
When I reached the pearly gate I read
Six ways to commit gluttony with dread:
Praepropere, eating too soon;
I admit to jumping the gun before noon
Laute (washedly), eating fine;
Sipping vino from our overgrown vine
Nimis, eating too munch;
Jaw unhinged anaconda size lunch
Ardenter, eating burningly;
Food on tipsy platters diurnally
Studiose (keenly), daintily eating;
My weight scale took a beating
Forente (boringly), eating wildly
Six months later I birthed him rather mildly
In his youth he wrote his finest
Thank god I named him Thomas Aquinast

Boy.
I watch you through the sliver door.
Turn a hip, the poetic dip,
unknowing, you taunt
a peek of darker shadows.

My pupils dilate
the golden peach
ripe fuzz of cheeks hypnotic.

I'll devour you,
pin you,
red-faced, bursting you.

Flay your insides
in canabalistic glee.

Ring your lips,
distended swell
you beg me.

I am in you,
I am the fuck,
low thrumming buzz,
of unravelling

neither scorned nor spurned
but deceived
I am vengeance embodied --

you murdered trust
whimsical slaughter
destroying a lifetime;
with aching slowness
painfully
it can be regained
expect long years of
torturous groveling --

always suspicious
ever-watchful
I look good in black
your new dominatrix
call me
Mistress Misery

the idea of him
is sharp
painful
like a heart attack
palpitating
sweaty
breathless
like jogging on a humid southern evening

the sight of him
causes temporary
blindness
to reality
weak knees
trembles
unrelenting desire
like an infusion of tequila in my veins

he is hers

wanting is insufficient
only having
and having
and having
can fill my need

with each new possession
i mark my worth
my ownership crowns
me lord of greed
