Around here, I can tell if it's down by the little blinky lights on the Comcastic cable modem... if the lights aren't on, then the internet is down. When I call them, they ask me if my cable is plugged in... and I remind them that it's their fault. Then I demand the "new people" price again. It's our little waltz. (And my weatherchannel desktop icon goes dark.)

I've seen some interesting cases of Forum Panic. And my own site vanishing off and on... :eek:

Anyhoo, I am in the habit of checking Shell Extension City (http://shellcity.net/) regularly, and that's where I found it. When I couldn't get to Shell City for a couple of months for unknown reasons. I fed my habit from the Google cache. The Internet does get kinks.

Most of our kinks involve undersea cables being severed by Indian ship captains whose aim is for Sri Lanka to sign on with an Indian telephone company instead of Singapore or whatever other countries we have deals with...
