Peterson Estate is a cross between YA and Adults but will be targeting adults due to some touchy scenes, no sex is in the story. Its the other elements that's a little touchy.

It is 60k and finished. I am looking for someone who can read it and see how it can be edited better. I am way too close to this story as I have been working on it for 20 years now, rewriting it several times, losing it a couple times, and then rewriting it again with an entire new feel since I have 2 books now published with an adult theme. Its better now than it was before so I think I found the right voice this time.

I'm just looked for honest feedback. How could I make it better and should something be added or taken away. I just need an extra pair of eyes before I send it back to the wolves (publishers) for another try. I'm not giving up on this story so what ever advice is welcome.

Please email me if you would like to take a peak at a chapter or the entire thing. Thank you so much in advance!

Amber, you shouldn't post your e-mail openly in a forum where spam-bots can pick it up. Either disguise it, like:

aruwyrd /@/ mailinator.com

aruwyrd
(at)
mailinator.com

et cetera

or ask for a PM. Most people can figure out how to restructure an addy, while the mindless software that harvests them for spammers can't.

Um...I would, but there's too much going on here...

Don't right off YA completely. The length may just, with voice, push it into that niche.

You say you have touchy subjects - believe me, there are very few subject that don't get touched in YA.

Not telling you what your novel is or isn't just saying keep your mind open. Plus, if you query it as a YA and a fantasy you have more agents on your list. :D

That is true, thank you. I have two books already published written more recently than this one and they are targeted toward adults, one being erotica can't be more adult than that one lol). I really didn't want to write under more than one name because of costs for websites and such.

At the beginning I was thinking about using one name for all my books and keep writing what I had originally planned, something for everyone in all age groups but after thinking about it what parent would allow their child to read something written by the same author who wrote erotica? So now I'm just writing books for adults and some mature adults as well even though my books will be aimed toward adults. If the publisher or agent feels its best suited for YA and isn't worried about my past books, I would be happy to target just YA on this one cause it does still have some of the feeling it had before.

Peterson Estate is about a woman who just finds out she's a witch. Joined by her sister, aunt, and mother; she uncovers the evil mysteries lurking in her enchanted castle. She has two enemies in this story, one being the previous owner who is also a witch (very powerful witch) and someone she would have never expected, won't say here. This is a series.
