Synonym for (bad) singing?

Help, please. I just can't seem to find the word I'm looking for to describe Harry Caray's voice/singing.

He didn't warble
or screech
or rasp
or intone

Here's the sentence, and I need a better word to replace "singing."

When WGN showed Harry Caray singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” it was like hitting the trifecta.
