We'll be trapped!

The main highway through Minneapolis will be closed all weekend for construction. I goes from the south of the city, where Frankie's Pam and I both live, to downtown.

Three, count 'em, THREE of the overpasses over that highway are also closed (till who knows when).

They are advising that we take city streets to travel north/south, but all but one of those will be closed because of a triathalon and it'll be very hard to get to that street because of the closed overpasses.

Plus, Pam's street will be closed for a couple of years.

It's the Minnesota Transit Authority's production of "No Exit".

Ok, for the old folkies of us in the house: There's a rewrite possibility here about getting Pammie off the MTA.

Meantime, what are people supposed to do, call the office and say, "Sorry Boss, the MTA says I can't come to work this week. No sir, they say next week's not looking so good either."

I think you could get away with that, if you're working weekends. You can't get away with it if the excuse is snow, ice or cold though.
