I am interested in writing copy for catalogs, but every copywriting resource I have found focuses on ads, direct mail, etc. Any suggestions on how to find more about writing and breaking into catalogs?
Thanks in advance.

Hi There,
Writing for catalogues is not easy, most large catalogues are produced by professional ad agencies.
You could try to get a job at an agency or you might just look around for small companies that need a freelance writer to do their catalogues.
Experience at writing short and informative, descriptive copy is a must.
Good luck! :)

If there are any third-party agencies you can go through, you might try that, too. That's how I got started doing retail catalogues. The Creative Group has offices in several major U.S. cities. They're kind of a staffing agency for creative professionals, including writers. You might try them. They're a division of Robert Half International.
