I ran across this website recently and found it very interesting, especially the mission statment of the group which reads:

Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain was formed to dispel the myth of "Straight talkin’, principled, maverick war hero" - We have professional television directors, advertising consultants, and national organizations who are working with us to launch this national project.

The site is here:

Indeed, very interesting and worth checking out. I have always found it curious as to why a former POW wouldn't do everything within their power to ensure Americans don't have to fight wars.

Wait, the guy has an email address called "stealthactivist", but then gives his name in the same sentence.

I was interested in reading until he dragged out the ex-wife.

Their disclaimer kind of puts me off. Why would you link to something that might not be accurate. I guess in the political world it's not that big of a deal.

Yeah, next we'll hear his POW experience was done in a film studio, the same as when we faked landing on the moon.

ugh, I just hate this kind of political attack. It is so unworthy of us all.

"Brain perversion techniques."

Hmmm... 5 years of Soviet indoctrination versus 20 years of Rev. Wright. It's a battle of Manchurian candidates!

I see why you want this spread William... hilarious stuff. Seems the moonbats have teamed with the zealots, who have joined with the mouth breathers. *snickers*

Mouth breathers? Why bring in Tom Cruise? :D

Not this shit again.

I'm not for John McCain, but in an election where there is some reason to believe that the two candidates will focus on issues, the last thing we need is another outsider group like the Swift Boaters spreading propaganda for the purposes of character assassination.

Of course, if it was successful the last time around, there's no reason to believe anyone would pass up an opportunity to do it again.

Nothing like raising the tone of politics.

Turnabout's fair play and all that. This is supposedly the tactic which wrecked Kerry.

But I wish these Democratic supporters would find healthier outlets for their enthusiasm. Just because Republicans stooped so low in the past doesn't mean we should.

Well, unless there's real dirt to be found, but I'm not convinced of that.

Turnabout's fair play and all that.

But if we all keep taking a turn and paying each other back, we'll stay mired in this crap forever. Meantime, the real issues drown in garbage.

Exactly. Somebody needs to rise above.

Not in this election.

Why not? Both Obama and McCain have run clean, issues-oriented campaigns so far. I think these two candidates have the most potential to elevate the level of political discourse of any two candidates we have had in a long time.

Turnabout's fair play and all that. This is supposedly the tactic which wrecked Kerry.

to the extent that it worked against kerry, it was due to his medal-throwing and calling his fellow soldiers war criminals.

to attack mccain on vietnam will be be quite a different story.

again, i urge all democrats to play this to the hilt. please.

I agree with this. Except for the last paragraph.

There is an enormous difference between the two. Gawd, am I going to have to listen to this kind of bullshit for the next four months? (Not talking about what you said, William, btw) All over the media, also, and not just here...

I will probably have a stroke or a heart attack, and I'm not exaggerating by much. This crap makes my blood pressure rise to scary levels.

Swiftboat-esque bullshit, with far less to have instigated it.

Non issue. Lock thread.
